Policies:

 

Payment

Full payment is expected for each class prior to the first scheduled

appointment. Open Shop sessions may be purchased singularly. Payments for all classes can be done online through Paypal,  or Credit Card.

 

Material Fees

Unless specifically stated in the course description, the cost does not include materials. Students can supply their own wood for classes, except “reclaimed or “used” materials. For the safety of our students and protection of the school machinery we do not allow these materials. NJ School of Woodwork will offer material “packages” for purchase for most classes

 

Booking

Classes can be booked online through the website. Class sizes are limited and may book quickly. You can request to be placed on a wait list, by sending an e-mail to scott@njsow.com

Don’t be discouraged if the class you want is booked, NJ School of

Woodwork will offer most classes on a rotating schedule. All students must schedule appointments for Open Shop at least 24 hours

prior to the scheduled session. Drop-ins are not guaranteed a work station.

If in the event the NJ School of Woodwork cancels any session, you will be provided a full refund.

 

Cancellations

We must be notified of all cancellations as soon as possible by phone, or

email. Cancellations within 48-hour notice will result in a 50% cancellation fee. If in the event NJ School of Woodwork cancels a class you will be provided a full refund.

 

Safety Equipment

Safety equipment must be worn during the operation of any tool or piece of machinery. We recommended that all students bring a pair of goggles and a sanding mask to each class or shop session.

 

Dress Code

All students must wear the appropriate attire within the shop at all times. Loose hanging clothing, open-toed shoes, long necklaces are not permitted.

 

Clean Up

Students should clean up as they work, it’s a safe way to work. Have respect for your fellow students, the shop, and the equipment and leave it like you found it.

 

Storage

limited storage space will be available while a student is currently enrolled in a class. All project wood should be marked with initials.

 

Missed Class/Course Time

There will be no refunds or credits given for class time missed by the student.

 

Expulsion and Barred Admissions

New Jersey School of Woodwork reserves the right to deny entry to a class or expel a student from a class should the student exemplify behaviors or take actions deemed by the New Jersey School of Woodwork to put the student, staff  or other attendees potentially or actually in danger or have others feel unsafe or unwelcome in any way. Confrontational, aggressive or other unbecoming behavior will not be tolerated and are grounds for expulsion.
